Organizational Coaching

At Synergy Coaching Group

We provide a wide array of services to our individual and organizational clients. Below you will find a general description of the work we do. However, coaching is always a unique and varied experience for every participant, so we carefully craft the coaching relationship with each client‘s particular needs and objectives in mind.

The power of coaching within an organization is that it is designed to develop and enhance the ability of the organization’s people – its employees, executives and leaders – to achieve the company’s objectives with exponentially greater velocity and clarity. Synergy’s main focus is to identify and transform anything that constrains growth and development – both with respect to the organization and its individual leaders.

What is unique about coaching vs. consulting?

It creates and maintains accountability for the company’s objectives at the level of each individual getting coached – each client. Thus, typical issues related to the performance of individuals within the company, the cohesiveness of its teams, the effectiveness of its meetings, its profitability, and achievement of the company’s goals are solved using actions and techniques created and agreed to by each client. This leaves the client, and every member of the company who participates in the process, empowered in his/her own ability to thrive and exceed expectations. It leaves each participant:

  • Motivated and inspired by the experience of getting coached;
  • Empowered and able to design for themselves the actions and new behaviors required to excel at their job;
  • Engaged in and excited about their work;
  • Ready to communicate constructively and honestly with their subordinates, coworkers and managers;
  • Willing to stretch and practice their leadership;
  • Able to identify their own blocks and gaps; and
  • Ready to develop new ways of working with others to accomplish the organizations objectives.

Imagine employees who take the initiative to solve the problems they encounter, who are authentic and responsible for themselves, their teams and their work product. What would be possible in your organization if most of your employees were like this most of the time?

Every Client is Unique

So, after meeting with you, we will tailor a program that best serves the particular needs and objectives of your organization. Generally, our organizational coaching services contain some combination of the following:

One-on-One Coaching: Certain members of your organization will participate in individualized, one-on-one coaching with a certified professional coach. These sessions are designed to support the individual to work effectively and powerfully towards the objectives of the organization, as well as to lead others in achieving company initiatives. Typically, individual coaching occurs at regular intervals over the course of several months.
Small Group Coaching: Small group coaching is an excellent way to strengthen teams, create camaraderie among departments, meet group objectives, and develop effective strategies and action plans within the organization. The structure of small group coaching is quite flexible. For instance, it may take the form of weekly meetings designed to address and build upon a particular topic (leadership, communication, well-being, etc.), it may be ongoing over extended periods of time or last for just a few weeks, it may be limited to particular individuals with mandatory attendance or be available to individuals on an as-desired or drop-in basis. In addition, the small group setting can provide cost-effective access to coaching to junior or staff-level employees for whom one-on-one coaching may not be fiscally justified.
Company and/or Executive Workshops: SCG can customize and lead periodic full or half day workshops for particular groups within the organization. Workshops are designed to facilitate or kick-off company initiatives, evaluate progress towards company objectives, address any breakdowns, and energize and empower participants to generate innovative perspectives regarding their roles and opportunities at the organization.

A Customized Approach

Regardless of which method or combination of methods is chosen, our customized approach can include, but is not limited to:

  • Interviews with leaders within the organization to define roadblocks;
  • Establishing an "ownership” mentality throughout the company;
  • Designing and facilitating win/win interactions;
  • Overcoming organizational and individual resistance to change;
  • Creating a shared vision – creating "buy-in”;
  • Altering the individual’s relationship to risk and vulnerability;
  • Addressing the burning and underlying issues blocking productivity (as opposed to surface, safe or spoken obstacles);
  • Building structures for success – structures that last;
  • Experiencing the power of alignment and support versus control;
  • Developing a safe environment for powerful communication for all;
  • Understanding the value of synergy;
  • Addressing the opportunity of challenge and the gift of problems;
  • Adding value versus protecting, attacking or defending; and
  • Addressing whole-life balance as the source of excellent performance.
